Costa was founded in 1968 under the name Copa Bade. While in the early years the import of specialty foods from the Mediterranean region was the main business, over the course of time it became increasingly specialized in the production of frozen seafood specialties. From 1990 the company belonged to Dr. Ing. Oetker Group. In 1997, the name changed from Copa Bade to COSTA seafood specialties. At the same time, a new state-of-the-art production facility was opened in Emden. Since 1 November 2007, COSTA Meeresspezialitäten has been a member of the apetito Group and is today the leading supplier of frozen fish and seafood specialties. The assortment ranges from shellfish and crustaceans, mussels and molluscs to fish and fish fillets to fish ready meals. ------------ COSTA wurde 1968 unter dem Namen Copa Bade gegründet. Während in den Anfangsjahren der Import von Lebensmittelspezialitäten aus dem Mittelmeerraum das Hauptgeschäft darstellte, spezialisierte man sich im Laufe der Jahre zunehmend auf die Herstellung von tiefgekühlten Meeresspezialitäten. Ab 1990 gehörte das Unternehmen zur Dr. Oetker-Gruppe. 1997 erfolgte die Umfirmierung von Copa Bade zu COSTA Meeresspezialitäten. Zeitgleich wurde in Emden eine neue, hochmoderne Produktionsstätte eröffnet. Seit dem 01. November 2007 ist COSTA Meeresspezialitäten ein Unternehmen der apetito-Gruppe.
