Now in its 15th year, Skipper Expo Int. Galway is Ireland’s flagship fisheries show that attracts large numbers of exhibitors and visitors from all over the world.
The show was founded by Mara Media, a publishing and event management company based in Annagry in Co. Donegal, Ireland.
Mara Media publishes the widely respected ‘The Skipper’ magazine, a monthly publication for the Irish and UK fishing industries. With this expertise and knowledge of fishing, the team at Mara Media realised that the Irish fishing sector would benefit from an all-encompassing annual fisheries exhibition, which led to their decision to create the show.
The expo, which is held annually at the Galway Bay Hotel, has gone from strength to strength and is now always fully sold-out to exhibitors due its popularity with visitors from Ireland and beyond. The success of the show can be attributed to the fact that the expo is a great place to do business, as well as being the ideal venue for the fishing industry to network and socialise.
The success of the Galway expo has led to the creation of two other fishing shows in the UK – Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen and Skipper Expo Int. Bristol.
The outside part of the show is always highly popular with visitors and is the first part of the event they pass on entering the exhibition venue at the Galway Bay Hotel on 8-9 March 2019.
