“Japanese food” is currently attracting attention on a global scale as a healthy alternative and ideal dietary lifestyle, leading to a worldwide boom in Japanese food and a rapid increase in the number of Japanese restaurants around the world. These Japanese restaurants provide readily accessible opportunities for various people to come into contact with Japanese food, the ingredients used in it, and the Japanese culture it encompasses. They thereby serve as “showrooms,” so to speak, for communicating Japanese food and culture to the world. The fact that the number of Japanese restaurants around the world is increasing, more people are enjoying Japanese food, and food ingredients originating in Japan are spreading out across the globe is a very welcome development for the people of Japan , and now is the time to accelerate this trend and advance it further.
The Organization to Promote Japanese Restaurants Abroad (JRO) has been established as an incorporated NPO responsible for substantiating an effort to issue supports to Japanese restaurants overseas. The purpose of this effort is to convey to the world the appeal of Japanese food and contribute to the development of overseas markets for Japanese food and food ingredients .
We look forward to the participation of many people, including private entities, corporations and individuals alike, who sympathize with these objectives.
