After 40 yrs in the fishing business, brother and sister team of Larry and Rosemarie Ciulla furthered their family wholesale fish business and established the Gloucester Seafood Display Auction (GSDA) in 1997. Since establishing GSDA, the auction has become the premier unloading facility and auction for the port of Gloucester, America’s oldest Seaport, along with Cape Cod, the outer Islands, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine.
Traditional market transactions prior to the auction resulted in an inefficient and unstable market created by less then favorable negotiations between buyers and sellers with no traceability or accountability of product. The GSDA auction changed this by providing buyers and sellers a fair venue to market, sell and buy product.
