With the increase in crab quotas in the surrounding region, the owners of Premium Seafoods Ltd. saw an opportunity. They, along with three other partners, formed Petit de Grat Packers Ltd. and opened a crab processing plant in Petit de Grat, N.S. They began processing cooked crab sections for US customers in August of 2000. The company processes fresh snow crab directly unloaded off the boats by Premium Seafoods Ltd.
Petit de Grat Packers Ltd. sells only the highest quality crab under the 'Grampa Harvey' brand name. The company sells its product throughout the United States and Canada and has plans to enter the Japanese market in the near future."
