Bergen Group ASA (Public, OSL:BERG) is a Norwegian maritime industrial group principally focused on the offshore industry and specialized vessels. Its activities are structured in four business areas: Shipbuilding, offering offshore and seismic vessels, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) vessels, research vessels and maritime work boats; Maritime Service, repairing, rebuilding and overhauling ships, offshore installations and diesel engines; Offshore, supporting the development of the oil and gas industry and providing such services as construction, modification and maintenance of sub-sea and onshore facilities, and Technology, supplying technology to the onshore, offshore and shipping industries.
The Company owns such direct subsidiaries as Bergen Group Shipbuilding AS, Bergen Group Maritime Services AS, Bergen Group Offshore AS, Bergen Group Technology AS and Bergen Group Management AS. As of December 31, 2008, the Company was a 44.42%-owned affiliate of Stangeland Investments AS.
Bergen Group has around 2000 employees strategic located along the Norwegian coastline, from Kirkenes in the north to Stavanger in the south.
