Back in 2016, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia hosted the 2nd Bali Tuna Conference back to back with the 6th International Coastal Tuna Business Forum. The purpose of combining those two events into a single special programme in 2016 was to bring industry, government and scientists even closer together to ensure the ecologically, socially and economically sustainable development of tuna fisheries.
In 2018, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with International Pole & Line Foundation plan to organize the 3rd Bali Tuna Conference back to back with the 6th International Coastal Tuna Business Forum. This year Bali Tuna Conference will seek for recommendation in improving inclusive solution through synergy and transparency collaboration between government, industries and community for sustainable tuna fisheries in 2025. Whereas, International Coastal Tuna Business Forum is an annual event hosted by the Ministry, after one year of hiatus, 2018 is its 6th year. This year, the forum will be the crossroad for government, industry and international markets to discuss and highlight on the opportunity of Indonesia’s coastal tuna industry to be the global leader in supplying one-by-one tuna.
Considering the importance of the conference and forum as a concrete action to support global tuna fisheries sustainability in Indonesia, we are pleased to invite the global tuna fisheries community attention to attend these two events.
