In the Nordsee 100 anniversary (year 1996) Frozen Fish International become independent company under the Unilever umbrella its top position. 1.1000 employees produce around 75,000 tonnes of frozen fish.
1997 - NORDSEE Holding is born. In 1998, the company sold the fishery division known as Deutsche See to allow for more focus towards seafood retailing.
The London-based investment company Apax Partners & Co. buys all the shares in NORDSEE in Germany and Austria from Unilever. NORDSEE Holding GmbH is founded as a holding company for the previous NORDSEE GmbH and all its subsidiaries.
2005 - Heiner Kamps purchases NORDSEE
NORDSEE Fischspezialitäten GmbH is acquired by Kamps Food Retail Investment (KFRI) and Heiner Kamps becomes chair of the management board.
2006 - KFRI becomes part of IFRC
The Kamps Food Retail Investment (KFRI) becomes part of International Food Retail Capital plc (IFRC) which has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since the middle of November.
2007 - IFRC establishes Kamps Food Retail Deutschland (KFRD)
IFRC acquires 100% of Homann Feinkost GmbH, IFRC establishes Kamps Food Retail Deutschland (KFRD). Today: Heiner Kamps Beteiligungsgesellschaft. It is IFRC's holding company for its operational business.
Nordsee has a turnover of approximately €345 million and over 400 outlets in Germany , Austria and Eastern Europe.
