Pescanova SA is no longer the owner of the seafood company of the same name, as it happened when it stopped listing in 2013, but a holding company whose main asset is 1.6% capital of the fishing Group.
Even those quotas diluted its stake in the company, which now operates under the name of Nueva Pescanova SL, after it left the competition of creditors in which it entered after the scandal of its accounts. This new company, which is not listed, is controlled by the creditor bank.
The last time shares of Pescanova SA were traded on the Stock Exchange was 13:27 hours on March 12, 2013. It was a pre-foreclosure company that boasted a profit of 36.6 million reais (in fact, were reds of 775 million) and Problems "of treasury. It would end up being the largest non-real estate competition in Spain, after which the company underwent a metamorphosis that has led it to become sole owner of a piece of real fish, Nueva Pescanova SL, handed over to the bank after a 1,560 million Euros. Now, four years later and without having cleared its future, the former matrix (known as old Pescanova) returns tomorrow to the parquet. For some funds it is the door through which to aspire to climb positions in Nueva Pescanova; For others, the free path for a future OPA foreclosure.
In the absence of any further details on the composition of shareholders after such volatility, CNMV records put the former president of the company, Manuel Fernández de Sousa, as the first shareholder, with 7.5%.
