The two divisions of Schröder Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG (“Schröder”) will belong to different companies in 2018. Management and partners of Weber Maschinenbau GmbH Breidenbach announced on December 22, 2017 that Schröder Food will be sold to a subsidiary of JBT Corporation (“JBT”). For JBT, a broad-based U.S.-headquartered food processing system provider, this is a strategically important decision. Shortly after the acquisition of Schröder by Weber, JBT had expressed strong interest in the Schröder Food division, which includes the machines and systems of curing and marination technology. "Upon getting to know JBT, we have come to the conclusion that this decision is the only one that is right for the further development and growth of the food division. Especially regarding JBT’s strong global presence, the company presents excellent opportunities and perspectives for Schröder", explains Tobias Weber, Managing Partner of the Weber Group.
Schröder's second business unit, the development and production of thermoforming packaging machines, will remain part of the Weber Group.
