CIR sarl (Compagnie Ittiche Riunite Agricultural Company with limited liability) was founded in 1992. Operational activity started immediately in Golfo Aranci using a technology based on rigid floating cages.
In 1996 it underwent a radical transformation that is still considered the best technology suitable for fish farming in the open sea. The cages become polyethylene, float and anchor with tie rods on the seabed.
The main activity of CIR consists in the breeding of valuable fish species (sea bream and sea bass) destined for wholesale. The plant can produce around 600 tons per year.
In September 2002 a new factory was established, the plant has been authorized at the EEC level since 1994. The company operates according to predefined protocols and has implemented the formalization of controls and analysis to provide the maximum guarantee of quality of the brand product.
In 2002, after two years of commercial collaboration with Esselunga, the CIR-Naturama chain was established as a voluntary disciplinary product, which represents from Esselunga the recognition of the high quality standards achieved. The Bennet supply chain program was subsequently implemented, confirming the high quality standards of the CIR.
The goal of the CIR supply chain is to offer a product that, through the guaranteed freshness characteristics, maintains the morphological and organoleptic characteristics intact from the moment of fishing to retail sale.
