Japan Fisheries Oil and Fats Association it was founded in 1949 After the war, seafood oil (fish oil / vitamin oil) was exported abroad as a powerful resource of Japan and contributed to foreign currency acquisition. By that, it helped a lot in the reconstruction of Japan at that time. Therefore, this association was created with the aim of stabilizing the production and distribution of fisheries fat and oil. The change of seafood oil and the goal of the association are About 20 years since around 1974, the production of fish oil exceeded 100,000 tons per year. The domestic production circumstances have completely changed since around 1994 as the catch of fish oil raw fish drastically declined. Based on these circumstances, the domestic fish oil production survey was decided to directly hear from actual producers from producers. The nutritional and physiological functions of aquatic fats and oils have been clarified, and research in this field is progressing rapidly. We are striving to gather information on highly unsaturated fatty acids that are drawing attention as functional ingredients. Both of these aims are to provide useful information to interested people.
