The followfish brand was founded in 2007 by Followfood GmbH at Friedrichshafen, Lake Constance, Germany. Followfood is a team of highly experienced and passionate fish vendors. The founding vision was to prove that a food movement could be based upon sustainability and real taste. Today, followfood is working, with a team of about 20 and a network of sustainable fishermen and organic fish farmers throughout the world, from organic shrimp farmers in Vietnam, to pole-and-line fishermen in the Maldives, to suppliers of organic mussels in Ireland. Followfood and their network share the same goals: to supply the market with fish products that have been caught and bred sustainably; to offer fish products that have a character and a history; and to ensure that their fish products that can contribute to positive change in the world.
In line with their motto “Follow the real taste”, followfish products are fully traceable back to the fisher with their unique tracking code. Further, followfish is the first brand/movement worldwide that completely discloses all suppliers and supply channels, building a bridge between the fishermen and the consumers.
