Seafood Hub Mauritius is the cornerstone of the Seafood and Fishing business in the Indian Ocean. It comprises of ten companies that together make Mauritius a leading choice for all operators in that sector.
Its activities comprise of Shipping Agencies (IBL Fishing), Fishing Vessels (Compagnie Thoniere de l’Ocean Indien), Reefer Vessels Chartering for the transport of tuna from the certified fishing zones (Reefer Operations Ltd), Private Quays in the port together with Unloading and Cold Storage facilities (Froid des Mascareignes), tuna processing of cooked loins, cans and pouches (Thon des Mascareignes), tuna processing of raw frozen fish (Mer des Mascareignes), Fish meal manufacturing (Marine Biotechnology Products Ltd), and a fully equipped shipyard for ship building and ship repairs (Chantier naval de l’Ocean Indien).
Closely associated to foreign partners that have a long experience in the shipping and seafood sector (for instance the Spanish Fishing Company - Echebastar, the French Piriou Shipyard and the French shipowner Sapmer from Reunion Island), Seafood Hub Mauritius has as its main shareholder the IBL Group, the largest conglomerate in the island.
