Frozen at sea fish and careful management of the North Atlantic and Barents Sea are vital to British interests as frozen cod and haddock fillets are now used by 90% of UK Fish & Chip shops. No chippy dinners otherwise! Formed in September 2000 Launched in January 2001 at Fishmongers Hall, London Association of Trawler owners, Importers and Distributors of Frozen at Sea Fillets Members from UK, Iceland, Norway Faeroe Islands Base in Hull Objective to promote Frozen at Sea Fillets of Cod, Haddock and Saithe(Coley) Only body actively countering comments of doom about Cod Provides positive information about supply of Cod from Barents Sea and Iceland Supported by Seafish Industry Authority(SFIA) Received funds from FIFG (EU) & Defra Don’t know of any restaurants using FAS, but plenty of Fish & Chip shops do and will admit it. Plenty of Fish & Chip shops use FAS and do not admit it
