Border Foods is a Minnesota based franchisee of Taco Bell, the nation’s leading Mexican-inspired quick service restaurant. We own 187 locations, and are still growing, throughout Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming, making us one of the largest Taco Bell franchisees in the country.
Founders, and brothers, Jeff Engler and Lee Engler got started in the quick-service restaurant business in the late 1970s. They began operating Taco Bell franchises in the 1980s. In 1996 they acquired 60-plus Taco Bell locations and launched Border Foods.
Border Foods includes Border Foods, Inc., Border Foods of Wyoming, LLC, Border Foods of Wisconsin, LLC, and Sioux Falls Bell, LLC, operating facilities.
Instead of hitching a ride down south and over the border for some spicy grub, pick up a can of Border Foods' peppers and make some belly-blasting food yourself. The company is a major global processer of private-label green chile peppers and a leading US supplier of jalapeño peppers, tomatillos, and banana pepper products. Border Foods supplies the foodservice, food manufacturing, and retail food industries throughout the US with canned, fresh, frozen and dried peppers, salsas, dips, enchilada sauce, as well as other Mexican condiment products. The company was acquired by condiment manufacturer Mizkan Americas in mid-2011.
