Cimbric is a family-owned Danish company with its roots in the Vendsyssel region. Our company is named after the courageous Northern Juttish people, the Cimbri, who many hundreds of years ago went on triumphant crusading expeditions right across Europe. Cimbric was founded in 1964 and in the early days production was centred around canned prawns.  We were one of the first Danish companies to introduce the concept of fresh prawns in brine, at the end of the ‘sixties. This ground-breaking innovation was the result of Cimbric’s direct access to the underground spring water close to the factory. Cimbric is still based at its original address in the village of Vogn in Vendsyssel. Our factory has been enlarged in several stages to accommodate the most modern and hygienic production facilities, supported by the strictest quality controls. 13.01.2010 Vestia manages shares in Cimbric Fiskekonserves A/S Cimbric Fiskekonserves A/S is now 65% owned by Vestia Holding ehf., subsidiary of Icelandic bank NBI hf., following the bank‘s takeover of ADB Holding Vogn A/S shares in Cimbric, as a result of enforcement measures.
