The Seajoy story began in 1979, when a pioneering group of entrepreneurs began farming shrimp on Ecuador’s Gulf of Guayaquil. From its beginnings in Ecuador, Seajoy expanded its shrimp farming operations, first to Honduras in 1985 and later in 1997 to Nicaragua. TODAY, the Seajoy Group is one of Latin America’s largest producers of premium farmed shrimp. Our operations are completely vertically integrated from hatcheries to processing plants giving us total control over all facets of shrimp farming and processing. We have almost 3,000 hectares (7,500 acres) of shrimp farms, producing our Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), which we sell to discriminating buyers throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. Monday, February 04, 2019 - Cooke Inc. (“Cooke”), a New Brunswick company and parent of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., today announced the completion of its acquisition of the business of the Seajoy Seafood Corporation group, one of the largest vertically integrated, premium shrimp farms in Latin America
