My name is Mike Sipe, and I believe I may have more years of experience in the genetics, breeding and growing of tilapia than anyone alive in the western hemisphere and quite possibly the world.
Working as aquaculture consultants, my wife and I have provided breeding colonies and assistance to more than 50 countries. I have spent 40 years improving Tilapia gene lines as well as developing the Improved Body Form which produces the "Pennyfish Hybrid".
Through selective breeding we have improved fillet ratios from 24% body weight to more than 50% as of 2009 with no increase in feed consumption.
We offer breeding colonies to Commercial Ventures as well as Home Aquaculturists. We also have the "Pennyfish Hybrid" available as fingerlings.
