We are based in Yerseke, the traditional heart of shellfish cultivation in the Netherlands. Koninklijke Prins & Dingemanse was established in 1880 by Jacob Prins, and is one of the pioneers of the oyster and mussel cultivation. We have a lot of experience in the respectful treatment of natural products. This is reflected in the way we work and in the quality of our products. The way we work is the main reason why we have become one of the major European producers of crustaceans and shellfish.
Although Mother Nature does most of the work, shellfish do need a lot of attention during their cultivation. And that is exactly what they receive from Prins & Dingemanse, for we know how important it is that they can grow under the best possible conditions. It is equally important that we carefully select our products and clean and package them under the best circumstances possible. It's no coincidence that we are the inventors of the process of packaging living crustaceans and shellfish under modified atmosphere. We feel that our products should remain fresh and tasty up to the moment that you start preparing them.
We can use our own logistics to make sure that our products arrive at their destination under the best possible circumstances. In short, we take care of our products from their cultivation to their delivery. These days this is called ‘supply chain management'.
