Loblaw's regional divisions include Westfair Foods Ltd. (western Canada and northern Ontario),National Grocers (southern Ontario), Provigo Inc. (Quebec) and Atlantic Wholesalers Ltd. (Atlantic Canada).
National Grocers became a part of the George Weston Group, and later a subsidiary of Loblaw Companies Limited, during the 1960’s but National Grocers’ proud heritage goes all the way back to 1925, when the company opened its first warehouse in Northern Ontario.
National Grocers steadily grew in size and sophistication with the creation of Red and White stores, which were sold to owners who shared common programs and warehousing. In the post World War II era, Lucky Dollar food store franchises prospered under the National Grocers brand as did Super Save Markets and OK Economy Supermarkets.
