The company owns the trawlers ”Doggi" and "Nordfjordtrål". It has 6 cod, haddock and saithe quotas. Both trawlers are fresh fish trawlers with freezer capacity. Operating revenue in the company in 2010 was approximately NOK 143 million and there were approximately 70 employees. Hammerfest Industrifiske AS was established in 1953. The steam trawler “Dunsby” was purchased from England and renamed to “Findus 1”. In 1954, “Findus 1” was reconstructed and renamed to “Skaidi”. An additional three trawlers were purchased from England and given the names “Rairo”, “Gargia” and “Masi”. In 1966, the shipping company’s first stern trawler “Håja” was delivered. During the period 1970–1973, the shipping company’s newbuilding program, “ten identical trawlers,” was completed and the company also got its present name. The ninth trawler was not put out in operation, but rented out and later sold to the Faroe Islands. In 1989, 1996 and 1997, ”Gargia”, ”Rairo” and ”Jergul” were rebuilt and upgraded. In 1991-92, three trawlers were taken out of operation and sold. In 1997, an additional trawler was taken out of operation and then sold in 1999. In 2007, “Doggi” (ex. Soløyvåg) was purchased and “Jergul” was sold. In 2009, "Nordfjordtrål" was purchased and replaced "Gargia". The company is administered through Aker Seafoods ASA.
