Lyford & Burkhart Exports (NZ) Ltd. was established in 1988, as the Export Marketing Division of Burkhart Fisheries Ltd. They are one of the leaders and major quota holders in New Zealand's rock lobster industry, and have specialised in live lobster exports since 1986. In October 1995 Lyford & Burkhart Exports (NZ) Ltd. merged with Taspac International Exports Ltd, who brought with them more then 35 years of experience in international seafood exports. This merger not only created L & B Taspac, a stronger and larger organisation, but has also provided a means to develop a broader range of opportunities. The introduction of Taspac's frozen lines to L & B's predominantly live lobster trade has enabled us to successfully extend our international appeal, and offer our customers a diversified range of live, fresh and frozen seafood products.
