Erfjord Broodstock A/S was established in 1987 and is located in Suldal, Rogaland producing eggs of salmon. The goal is to be a company with high expertise in breeding and production of brood stock and eggs of salmon. We focus on quality, service and environment.
We create the genetic material in collaboration with Salmo Breed and Aquaculture Research Genetics Center. Erfjord Broodstock A/S has changed all production over the 3-year generation interval. Consequently, customers receive a 25% faster access to the progress of genetic material. We are using only line fish of the parent fish as is very strong emphasis on disease resistance and growth in brood production. From 2010 we can deliver roe parent fish are tested for resistance to PD and resistance to sea lice.
Erfjord Broodstock A/S delivers around 18% of all salmon eggs on the Norwegian market.
Erfjord Broodstock A/S owns 27.5% of Salmo Breed and 34% of the Salten Broodstock.
