Russian Sea Group launched its fish farming business with the acquisition of a trout farm in the Karelia region in 2007.
Today, the Russian Sea Aquaculture division operates a trout farming site at Segozero, one of the largest lakes in the northwest of Russia. Fish farming is a high margin business with significant growth potential. It is less dependent on external factors and therefore more predictable than wild catch; due to the risk of wild fish depletion its importance is increasing.
All farmed trout is delivered to customers via Russian Fish Company distribution channels. The growing methods and technologies developed by leading international fish farms are the basis of the company’s operations.
