The company was established in 1991 and is located on Arnøy In Gildeskål municipality. From 1993 the company was approved as sanitary slaughter and is the only one on the stretch of Steigenberger Meløy. Fishhook employs 24 people in 20 man-years and is a major work in a community with 260 inhabitants.
The factory has a daily capacity of 60 tonnes gutted weight and a freezer capacity of 20 tons.
Fiskekroken has 14 farming concessions in the stretch Ballangen to Lurøy and the total has plant an annual production of 10,000 tonnes gutted weight (as of January 1, 2008).
In additionFiskekroken has a well established fish processing which annually handles about 100 tonnes and 200 tonnes of crabs from local fishermen and other suppliers
