Food Safety Magazine is the source for science-based solutions for food safety and quality professionals worldwide.
To help all levels of food safety decision makers and practitioners in food manufacturing/ processing, foodservice/retail, regulatory and food science acquire state-of-the-art knowledge to align food safety science and technology with business strategies that optimize the efficiencies and effectiveness of food safety systems across the entire supply chain from farm to fork.
In 1995, the Target Group founded what would eventually become Food Safety Magazine. At the time, food manufacturers and producers were faced with accelerating developments in analytical and testing instrumentation and procedures, combined with an increase in the scope and range of federal regulations affecting their industry. To meet those needs the publication, then called Food Testing & Analysis, would provide in-depth coverage of the factors driving industry growth, and create a forum for discussing the latest trends, issues, and technologies.
In response to the needs and demands of the market, the content of the magazine shifted to focus on the quality assurance and quality control issues of food processors including sanitation, microbiology and process control. Back then, the term "food safety" didn't really exist, and we were discussing and writing about it as the definition and market emerged.
In 2001, we changed the name to Food Safety Magazine to more closely reflect our mission. Today, we continue to be the definitive voice and source of science-based solutions for food safety and quality specialists worldwide.
