Supermercados Coto is the third largest supermarket chain in Argentina, after the Carrefour Group and the Chilean Supermarkets composed Cencosud Jumbo, Disco and Vea; and the first Argentine capital after the sale of Supermercados Norte. Coto Supermarkets began to be a chain of butchers.
It has 110 branches in total. Most in the City of Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires. It also has branches in Mar de Ajo Mar del Plata (wholesale only), Rosario, Paraná and the recently opened in Cariló. Some hypermarkets have a food court, cafes, games for kids, movie theaters and kiosks (Entertainment Zone). Alfredo Coto in 1970 with his wife Gloria founded COTO CICSA They drive the direct sales system producer / consumer. In order to reduce costs and optimize the marketing model of the age scale, are designed with modern butchers slaughtering a system of air and cut to the hearing, which managed to maintain a monthly sales of 40,000 kg per branch. The aim of this new system was to market products and by-products with quality and brand COTO, to position the company as the No. 1 selling meat in the country. In 1987 COTO opens in Mar de Ajo, its first supermarket.
