Queen’s University Belfast is a member of the Russell Group of top 25 universities in the UK. The School of Biological Sciences has a strong reputation in marine biology, with 10 academic staff and 40 post-doctoral researchers and PhD students specialising in aspects of this field, using the facilities of a well-equipped marine laboratory station. A computational biology group is established within the Evolution, Ecology, Behaviour and Ecological Economics research cluster and this group to which the named researchers belong is equipped with dedicated modelling facilities, part funded by the UK Royal Society, with 4 PhD students supported by an Irish Beaufort Research Award. QUB staff are backed up by a professional Research Support Office who implement standard-compliant quality-assured financial and administrative management for research grant funded projects.
