Family owners called Rog as a last name are running one of a total of 275 fishery firms (308 vessels) operating in the North Sea targeting shrimp. There are three brothers on board owning the firm since 1990. Until their father died in 2009, he was also one of the owner and involved with fisheries for 40 years. The vessel was built in 1968, although the engine is from 1997. The vessel is a shrimp trawler (main fishing gear), but is also operating as a gill netter and outrigger. The size of the vessel is: length 22.47 meters, width 5.60 meters and depth 2.50 meters and a size of 65 Gross tonnage (and 300 horse power Caterpillar). VOF represents the Dutch shrimp fishery sector of the North Sea in the MYFISH project. The firm is a member of Vissersbond and has been part of the structural changes in the sector that have taken place over the years.
