The Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences was formed on January 1, 2013, and has about 160 employees divided into premises at Frescati Backe and Lilla Frescati at Stockholm University campus area. A new department building that will accommodate all the staff is under construction adjacent to the Arrhenius Laboratory and is scheduled to be completed during spring 2015. It will be a modern research and teaching environment with a main focus on green biology.
