The AquaScan fish counter is based on a patented measuring principle developed by Torbjørn Kvassheim in 1989 as part of his thesis work at the Regional University in Stavanger, Norway. This measuring principle represents a new method of counting in which the distance between any number of objects passing the sensor is no longer relevant.
Based on production and sale of the original smolt counter, the company was established in 1990. The markets need for realiable and fast counting of any size of fish and more excotic species was realised during the early 1990s. Resulting from this, in 1996 we developed the CS-series which was specifically designed for counting fish being transported in pipes.
