The University of Hawai'i System consists of three university campuses, seven community college campuses, and several job training and research centers across six islands.
The public higher education system has an enrollment of more than 50,000 students, about 85% of which are Hawaii residents. It offers more than 600 different doctorate, graduate, undergraduate, and associate degrees, as well as professional certificates, in more than 200 fields of study.
The University of Hawai'i was founded as the College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in Honolulu in 1907, while Hawaii was still a US territory.
