Scientific and Technological Research, CONICYT-is directed today by two major strategic objectives or pillars: the promotion of capital formation man and the strengthening of scientific and technological base of the country. In turn, both pillars are powered by a transverse area of scientific information and international links.
For over 40 years, CONICYT has been present in each of the initiatives to support the strengthening of science and technology in Chile, directing their efforts to the ultimate goal of contributing to economic, social and cultural development. Actualmente, el fomento a la formación de capital humano se traduce en el impulso de una política integral de formación, inserción y atracción de investigadores y profesionales de excelencia, así como de la promoción de una cultura científica en el conjunto de la sociedad, especialmente en el ámbito escolar. Currently, the promotion of human capital formation results in promoting a comprehensive policy on training, integration and attraction of researchers and practitioners of excellence, as well as the promotion of scientific culture in the whole of society, especially in the school.
