C.I.R.S.PE., the Italian Fishery Research and Studies Center, was established in 1979, following a Federcoopesca wish, with the purpose to set up a structure which can fulfil the necessity of training, study, assistance and marketing for fishery and aquaculture sectors. C.I.R.S.PE. is a non-profit company and it is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (D.M. 26/10/99). It has the aim to represent for fishery and aquaculture, a polyvalent centre for services, promoting an integrated development of the entire sector. The presence of specialized technicians and researchers operating on the national territory, has enabled C.I.R.S.PE. to consolidate, through the years, a productive collaboration with the fishery cooperative companies and with government bodies. The continuous exchange of information obtained, the confrontation between the parts involved and the permanent participation of the companies for the planning, are the main topics of the operating model of C.I.R.S.PE.

Il C.I.R.S.PE., Centro Italiano Ricerche e Studi per la Pesca, nasce nel 1979 per volontà della Federcoopesca, al fine di creare una struttura in grado di rispondere alle esigenze formative, di studio, di assistenza tecnica e di marketing al servizio del mondo della pesca e dell'acquacoltura. La presenza sull'intero territorio nazionale di tecnici e ricercatori specializzati del C.I.R.S.PE. ha permesso di consolidare nel tempo un rapporto di proficua collaborazione con le imprese cooperative della pesca e con la Pubblica Amministrazione. La struttura garantisce un'efficace risposta alle reali necessità degli operatori del settore e, al tempo stesso, offre un supporto costante a quanti sono chiamati ad effettuare la pianificazione degli interventi ai fini della gestione delle risorse biologiche.
