The Fylde Ice & Cold Storage Company has been operating from historic buildings on Fleetwood’s waterfront since 1908. In the early days of the last century, the company supplied ice to the deep-sea trawlers that were based in the Lancashire port and soon afterwards added cold store facilities. Whilst industrial ice continues to be manufactured in the modern Finsam factory, the company now also supplies high quality pre-packed ice cubes to the Retail and Food Service markets. Today, the Victorian walls of Fylde Cold Stores’ Fleetwood site house a very modern operation, with computer-controlled facilities capable of meeting the most stringent needs of any customer
